Card Making Goodies

Postby oatflip » Sat Aug 13, 2011 3:54 pm

Hi everyone, just joined today, really to ask if anyone would be interested in my card making stuff. I have been diagnosed with arthritis in my hands of all places and have decided to stop making cards. This of course leaves me with all my card making things that I have collected over the years. Cards, envelopes, sleeves, paper, scissors, rubber stamps, glue, pens, chalk, the list is endless. Don't really know if I should sell any ideas would be greatly appreicated. I stay in Stewarton, Ayrshire, again not too sure if thereare many members from Ayrshire on here already?
Many thanks
Yvonne.

Hi, Yvonne, so sorry to hear your news, but are you sure you need to completely give up your lovely hobby? Please don't think I am being patronising, but I have a friend with severly "bent" and painful fingers and hands due to arthritas but she still crafts and makes some lovely cards!! We do have a section on here called "Swap Shop" where you can post details of things you want to sell if you do decide to go ahead - other than that, E-bay is another option, there are always crafters trawling for bargains on there!!! Good luck whichever route you decide to follow.
Grant me patience Lord - please hurry!!

Yvonne, Sorry to hear of your problem, I agree with Hilda don't go getting rid of everything, just yet.
What type of Arthritis have you got, many crafters have Arthritis in their hands and manage to keep going. Remember, you will also be without the pleasure you have got from cardmaking! Also, there is nothing to stop you moving into digital "stamping". It is very popular now. And it also takes up less space! :D

We have a lady at our weekly card class whose hands are very badly crippled with arthritis. She's a real inspiration to us, how she manages to do everything in the end, just slower than we can is all.

I'm facing this myself, slowly. But I intend to "keep on keepin' on," as we say in the southwest US! Hang in there!
