New Portable storage

I have just bought myself a Prym Click Box see http://www.stitcher.co.uk/view-product. ... -click-box to store the cards I am stitching at the moment. I usually prick out several at the same time. I can put threads, beads etc in one layer. Cards and designs instructions etc in another. In the third I have more tools, selotape etc. So far it is working very well for me, I can bring it downstairs and work with the rest of the family rather than upstairs in my cardmaking area. I do that more and more in the winter, and as it is so cold at the moment, it is nearly time to get ready for Winter!

Katharine I use fishing boxes. There are different kinds.Just find the one for the job. One for embroidery stuff, one with all my pergamano gear, cake decorating stuff, painting gear, etc. All nice and neat and always ready to take wherever. Very handy, especially when teaching classes, just pick up and go. I,m sure you will enjoy your box very much and wonder how you did without it.
Use the talents you have. If only the best birds sang the woods would be silent.

I have one of these, Katharine, and used it for all sorts of small things that go in sets (one per drawer) like Stickles, pens, Friendly Plastic etc. I did find 2 drawbacks, both of which were relevant to the way I use it rather than inherent design faults. Having bought extra trays to clip on, the box became very heavy when full. And the knobs on the ends which the clips fit over are very fragile - if you tread on them they break #-o

But I agree, they are very useful if used sensibly.

Thanks for the warning Fiona! John did warn me too! I will try not to tread on the clips.

I lusted after one of these when a friend brought one to our school craft session with her sewing stuff in but I could see myself needing a very tall & heavy set & didn't think the hinges would take it. I tend to use the plastic toolboxes you can find in DIY shops. A small one has all my basic stuff - scissors, rulers, glues etc and I have several larger ones, one with Christmas stuff, one with jewellery making items & 2 with embellishments. I like the variety of different spaces available - the top usually has small compartments with a see-through lid, inside there's a deep space for larger items plus a lift out tray for long objects. As it's designed for tools I find that it can take a lot of weight as well.

Sorry, of course I got it wrong way round! It is indeed the clips which break off if you tread on them!

These boxes come in different sizes - I may regret getting the smallest size - but it should not get too heavy. I treat myself to a little something whenever I reach a dieting milestone so I may have to wait a while before I spend more money!
