what a pain this is to use  I normally use a tape runner like a ATG gun or a hermes ,but I'm trying to use up all the other glues I have rather than them just taking up space .Some of the backing paper was so hard to get off on one of the rolls .Thank goodness I've finished that roll ,I've only 2 more to use up, It will be a relief when they've gone

I too find the backing paper hard to get off sometimes. My pointy tweezers are a great help

I use the tip of my craft knife if I have trouble with the backing. I use DST all the time and I love it!

Since I got my ATG gun I have used it constantly, but the other day I decided I MUST use up all the rolls of DST I have, so put my Gun away and have been struggling ever since!!! Maybe I should just give it all away to those less fortunate (ie - those that have not yet discovered the joys of owning an ATG!!!) and count my blessings!!!
Grant me patience Lord - please hurry!!

Well at least that means the adhesive is still working Eileen. I had to bin 5 rolls I bought at a show, they had dried out. It was a bargin offer!!
I am careful now which tape I buy!

Re: removing the paper: I press down and drag the side of my knife across the width of the tape then lift up the paper with the tip of my knife. I remember getting this tip from our very good friend, Eileen James.

Well I am on to my last roll and this one is working fine the backing paper is coming off without poking with the craft knife or anything else I feel very virtuous using up my stash. I can even cut into my precious 12 x 12 papers that I have stroked for years.

I had this problem with some DST I bought at a show a few years ago - it just didn't stick :-x ! I noticed it was very white rather than the slightly more ivory coloured stuff I usually have so I avoid anything like that now. I've been using it up on acrylic blocks to hold my UMs in place.

Oh dear, and I don't even know what an ATG or Hermes is!! ( tell me?) ........and I don't feel too deprived but very happy with DST, especially the red one. Use it constantly, poking and lifting with a pin. But I too have had some 'bargain' ones over the years. Never again as they must have been old stock and dried out far too soon.

Isn't it interesting to know the different ways we stick A to B? It sounds so simple........
And it would be another thread altogether to know how we are using up the years-old stash I think we all have!!

There is a Dutch lady with a blog called stamping Matilda who does a Sunday scraps entry every (yup you've guessed it) Sunday. She shows you the bits she's taken from her scrap box and then shows you what she's done with them. Unfortunately this has just convinced me to not throw ANYTHING away  ! The other day DH had to get to the radiator in front of my desk and asked me to move my 'junk' from under the desk, he was appalled to see the collection of tatty clothes (great scraps of fabric), plastic packaging (looks fab embossed with the Cuttlebug), bubble wrap (for card protection in the post) and odd empty boxes (which I will decorate one day) which emerged. He just looks at things differently  .

Oh my! This could be my place. I've got all of that in heaps. DH thoughts as well! Twice a year my sister comes and I have to clear the 'bedroom'. Tho' she is a cardmaker too and happy if I leave some of it, I have to move boxes of card and paper that live on the floor just so she can get round. I WILL get rid of old chocolate boxes and similar stuff not used in years... I shall feel so virtuous.
