Hi everyone i'm a newbie to the forum.....i have bought the peacock chart and i don't understand how to start it can anyone offer any tips on how u start it.....i am reading the instructions but they seem to go over my head....lol....thanks x

Welcome to the forum micra1.

Is your peacock chart for stitching? If so it would be best to start with one of our free stitching patterns. These are deliberately easy and will help you to learn the basics. There is a link to "Free patterns" near the top of this page. There is also a link to "Technique" showing the method step-by-step.

Thanks David.....i have done some of the freebie ones..and i like the peacock..the problem im having is the first feather....it's got me confused....

Are you talking about the feather markings that are stitched in two different thread colours?

If so, the best way to understand them is to get the colour diagram on your computer screen and enlarge it so that you can see the detail of what you are aiming at.

Each marking is stitched twice using the same holes. It is first stitched in blue thread as shown on the diagram of marking 1. It is then stitched again in copper thread in a different sequence as shown on marking 2. The finished result is a blue spot with a circle of copper around it.

If the above does not the solve problem please explain in more detail what part of the first feather got you confused.

Yeah its the colour markings on the feathers...i will have a go at what u have said..i wil defo give u a shout if i get stuck....
