Do you just want letters, Julie? David has two different alphabets at Stitching Cards and also fonts for stitching, so that you can make up your message. If you want the more decorative initials, I have a Dutch book by Joke de Vette, but some of the letters are not really British! I can look out the details, if you want.

Joke d'Vette's Embroidery on Paper for Every Occasion has a great alphabet in it, but it is not for words, really, more of a fancy monogram alphabet.

Thanks. It's the initials that I have in mind so I look out the Joke de Vette book.

Jolis, you must have a different edition from me, my copy of Embroidery on paper for every occasion does not have an alphabet in it.

The Dutch book I mentioned is Bloemletters en kerstkaarten by Joke & Adriaan de Vette. This has the monograms that Pipa, Jasu and I have shown on the Gallery. I googled for the book and found a Dutch site that had a Union Jack on it so clicked for translation and that's how I bought it.

Julie, my deepest apologies--the book that has the monograms in it is by Erica Fortgens, entitled Basics of Embroidery on Paper 2 ISBN#: 09-213-3300-7, pages 62-67, with a plain font alphabet on page 68.

There, have I redeemed myself? #-o

Thanks Jolis. I actually took Katharines advice and sent for the Dutch book. Just waiting for it to be delivered if I understood the e-mail correctly.
